Frances Elkins custom Moroccan carpet

 Just finished reading Legendary Decorators of the Twentieth Century by Mark Hampton,
and discovered that Frances Elkins commissioned a custom Beni Ourain runner in the 1930's.

'The modern crafts that she so loved appeared in the Moroccan runner
made specifically for the stairway....So then you can imagine the many layers of style and design that, woven together, made up the extraordinary luxury, glamor, and chic of this American house....' {p. 83}
